I went to have a look at Holmfirth Festival of Folk, or Folk Festival, on Sunday, 7th May 2023, which was blessed with some nice sunny warm weather.
I don't know if it was due to the Coronation the previous day, but there were only a few groups performing and in some cases their number of performers was less than I used to see in the past. But it was a pleasant afternoon. So here are some photos.
I guess these are Mummers. Unlike the the other musical performers they performed a play about Alfred and the burning of the cakes. The chap dressed in Knightly attire with a saucepan on his head would have made a good Baldrick.
If you like modern noisy bands there were those too.
