Many days of rain and wind behind us, New Year's Day was chilly, overcast, but at least dry.

One hound decides to take a hike during a minute’s silence in remembrance of the late Pauline Brook Pearson who was formerly married to Keith Brook, a CVB Master from 1970 to 1980, but who like many other good men did not live to see old age.

The eager young hound on a leash has been ‘walked’ since being a young puppy last year and is now about to rejoin the pack as an adult.  Looks keen to go.

At the end of the afternoon, the welcome of the local pub with a delicious free stew and dumplings, some liquid refreshment and a good sing, rounded off the first beagling day of 2016.
