Another event in the Colne Valley Beagles calendar
was the garden party and Puppy Christening hosted on Sunday the 27th
June by a CVB member in her lovely garden with a delicious luncheon and of
course a bar. The forecast for the
weather of the day was accurate, and with sunshine for much of the time the rain scheduled
for a 4:30 pm start was on time and by then most were
well on their way home.
The
venue.

This
lovely original painting of a mountain (Blue) hare is by Paula Vize I haven't seen them quite so shaggy but then I haven't seen everything. It
really took my fancy. Copyright image by David Swanbury

At
a glance, one would think some had been at it all day but it is still morning. They say photographs can't lie - or do they? Copyright image by David Swanbury

the same way as the puppies I think but a bit more demonstrative. He has a big role to play after lunch.

Well
he must be because they stand like that don’t they?
Actually he is the official CVB bartender, but he can still be a hero.

Another
very enjoyable CVB event. What would we
do without the CVB?
As
for the weather, well at the time of writing it is streaming down. Seen no sun today and the forecast for June
being one of the three hottest months in a hundred years is so far, and yet
again, completely and utterly wrong - well as far as June is concerned. Here’s hoping for a hotter July and August to make up for it, although in moderation please. I wonder when an official long range forecast was ever
right? And yet they know what the whole world will be like in twenty or thirty years time. Amazing.
