For those unfamiliar with mounting horses the gentleman is using standard procedure to assist the the lady to mount, but the other horse is not altogether sure of his good intentions.

Thornhill Edge is the boundary of a large dreary conurbation - beginning in the distance.  The front row of houses there have a beautiful countryside vista from their front windows.

It is the fun and challenge of jumping and doing this sort of thing together that makes 'hunting' an attractive ride out.  There are many horse riders where I live and one can see them often looking dismally slouched,  plodding lethargically along the roads, weighed down with Hi Vis. rugs and clothing.

I know horses need exercise but they need entertainment too to spice their life a bit.  I doubt few riders would do this on their own.

A bit of tail-end indecision soon overcome.

Not everyone made it through the water without falling off!  Fortunately blushes are spared as I missed it and only later noticed a dripping figure walking off to collect her horse.  Stalwart that she was, she carried on regardless.  I think she is the third one on here; came off just after this shot and I can't imagine what went wrong.  The local gamekeeper in brown got a video of her misfortune though.
