The chap in the dress really seemed to get into the swing of it.

And so a trip to Hebden Bridge

And a fashionable English Gentleman.  Pink is posh.

Hebden Bridge suffered two recent disastrous floods, so many buildings now have slot-in barriers available.  This empty shop faces the river, which is normally an innocuous thin flow tumbling over the wide stone bed.

Some local chap in the hills makes these objects from scrap.

Most interesting tattooist's window I have ever seen.

Sunshine every day.

This chap's wife makes an assortment of pies, meat loaf, and sausage rolls etc.  By lunchtime he had sold very well.  Best stall on the market by far.  I suggested that he should hang on to his wife as she is making him a fortune.  The stuff I bought was absolutely delicious.

This Ford Escort 1300, originally red, was first registered in Halifax on Friday, 18th August 1972. It has around 12,000 miles showing and I wonder if cars like this get the clock zeroed when they are restored. Fine condition and better than when new.

I have never been to Hebden Bridge when this lady hasn't been parading her stuff in support of the Palestinians.  Wonder what good it does? She is extremely dedicated.

These colourful chaps seemed a bit overdressed for the weather.  I wonder if anyone dresses like that at home in the Andes or wherever.  They appear to have pheasant tail feathers in their hats.  Wonder if they are from local ones.

Their 'begging bowl', with stuffed bird, did not seem to get any attention.  Their vibrant performance somehow made the crowd keep at a respectable distance, so people never crossed the void to put money in.  They worked hard for ages and I wondered if they were paid to perform.

Just a view of St George's square towards the performers.

Three Harleys arrived.  One could hear them coming and one could hear them leave!  Apart from these sort of  throbbing beasts I wonder how some motorcyclists can get away with unsilenced bikes which are getting more common.  I thought there was some sort of decibel limit.

Not my  cup of tea but impressive just the same, if only for the weight in chrome.

Canada gosling.  Canada geese are all over the place now in ever growing numbers.   I saw one vast creche of babies in a field, at least forty, with a couple of adult nannies.

May blossom. Tremendous display of blossom of all sorts this year.

"You may have heard the old saying 'Ne'er cast a clout till May be out'. It's been in use since at least the 18th century. A clout is an old word for a piece of clothing. Some people think 'May' refers to the month but others take it to mean the Mayflower or hawthorn".

Well I took it to mean May flowers so have shed my vest until the autumn chills!
