MY BEAGLING REVIEW OF 2012

Much water has passed under the bridge in the world since 2012 and I think it is getting dirtier by the day at the moment.  It makes me think ten years ago was a time of bliss, but then maybe looking back tends to do that.  So here is a review, pictorially, of some of the events of the Colne Valley Beagles in 2012, now known as the Holme and Colne Valley Beagles or H&CVB.  I won't mention where they were taken, just the date.  It is a significant loss that some of the faces are no longer with us

It was the Centenary of the CVB in 2012 and a 100 numbered plates were made in celebration of this event showing the cottage as it was many years ago.  A bit of history is shown on the reverse.

The old photo, used for the plate, of around 1875 is showing Dave Fearnley aka Dave O'Lindas who was keeper of the Whitley Beaumont Estate. (I suspect the apostrophe has been lost over time from Linda's as from Tom Garside. aka Tom O'Bellas (Bella's), another keeper, who also lived there in 1900. 

Ken Green passed away aged 80 and a special badge was stuck in his honour.  A limited edition of 100 numbered  badges.  Rarer still were six with no number that got into circulation.

Regrettably, with the passing of Ken Green and Meryl Walmsley, a huge trove of knowledge and information has gone.  As for a bicentenary, there will be no one here to see the event, but I doubt there will be one. As the Bob Dylan song goes - The Times They Are A Changin'.
