Reminds me of a rhyme from schooldays - "See my finger, see my thumb, see my fist and you'll get some!"

But she's not like that.

I only got the odd distant view of the Rockwood today.
The housing is on Thornhill Edge.  Pity it had to be.  It looks ready to cascade down the slope and then swallow up this attractive area.  Suppose it will do before long.  It is the edge of Dewsbury too.

A fluke of weather and it is a hot February day.  Any shade is welcome.

Cloudless blue skies and strong shadows.  When the chill returns it will take some getting used to again.

I feel bad about this gate.

David Swanbury Copyright

I went to open it and failed because it appeared to be securely chained and padlocked.

But seen from the other side it could be unhooked.

It's an ordinary enough gate but an attractive place.

I was just struck by the similarity there.  Is that an example of mirroring?  Both those two including their horses look so similar in posture and general appearance..

Mud, Mud, Glorious mud
Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood,

So follow me, follow,
Down to the hollow
And there let us wallow
In glorious mud.

It is a hot job today.  Suppose it will be snow in April but there is still March to come.  At school we were taught that Britain had an equable climate but could never understand how something so changeable could be describe as equable.
