Rockwood
Harriers Hunt - End of season Lawn Meet
Today was the end of the season for both the Colne
Valley Beagles and the Rockwood Harriers.
Unfortunately the CVB were trudging about on a dark cold rough moor so I
chose to follow the Rockwood over the rolling green pastures and woodland where
I rode and roamed in my youth and a bit later.
The other attraction was a superb ‘Lawn Meet’ which was well attended as
one might expect.
As a consequence of the last day of hunting for
this season I took, and have posted, rather a lot of photographs. At the end of here is a link to PhotoBox if
anyone wants to get their own prints made and also a link to a short video of
the Meet. The ambiance of this video was
rather ruined by the proximity of a voluble Border Terrier, one of several that
attended, so turn the sound down a bit.

I don't think I would have to be told twice! |
Port, sausage rolls and other goodies for everyone. |
I think the man with the camera is beginning to levitate. |
Plenty of Port |
A lady photographer was taking one like this with her big lens so I thought I would too. |
A Master probably thanking our generous hosts. |
And I just noticed the caption. |

I
do like the all the metalwork. |
When you've finished with it can I have it? |
An
afternoon stop for refreshments and a change of horse if you have one to change
to. |
Sausage rolls and Port again. |
A stylish waiter. |
"I wish we could have sausage rolls!" |
A
great leap forward - well no, the horse got closer. |
Comfort
break over and off again. |
After
the usual overcast day a hint of sunshine now. |
Going
Home |
I enjoyed my day out very much. After this I lost them again and gave up but I appreciated the odd lift and the bits of information to help me keep in touch. So as promised here is the You Tube video link Lawn Meet Video And here is the link to where all the above and maybe the odd extra one as well -
PhotoBox gallery.
Hopefully these links work.
